Hello, I have an eny TE1-0034 and purchased cable HP P/N: 507148-001 to power an additional SSD and HDD. When I plug in the drives with the power cable and SATA, the computer will not boot at all when the drives are plugged in. It is also worth noting i have replaced the PSU with the HP 400W PSU which is compatible with the motherboard. The system boots fine with only the m.2 512GB SSD that comes standard.

I am at a loss here.

@tuscani1,

Welcome to our peer-to-peer HP Community Forum!

Yea, been there, done that.  Have you checked your Boot Order in BIOS? What I mean is that if the SATA SSD/HDD ("Hard drive") boot order is set before an M.2 NVMe SSD, that would explain why you see what you see. So, in BIOS: System Configuration > Boot Options. Follow the on-screen instructions to change the boot order.

Hope this was helpful.

Kind regards,

Thank you so much for your quick response!! Unfortunately its a hardware issue im afraid. The drives weren't showing up in bios. I tried unplugging and reconnecting the drives, then this time when I tried to boot it appeared the power cable for the drives shorted or something and the system wouldnt boot at all until i disconnected the drive (i heard small electric sparks and smelled electronic burn smell when the system tried to boot). I'm hoping the power cable I got on ebay was just faulty and thats all thats the only thing faulty part, however I fear the SATA interface is fried. I ordered another cable to test. We will see what happens 😕 I hate working with this proprietary stuff. Looks like i may just be getting a new motherboard and cool case (at least I'll be able to use my modular power supply from a previous build if this is the case 😭
