Hi @DS_15,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your device does not start normally, but works only after briefly interrupting the power supply. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this behavior and stabilize the startup process.

Perform a full power reset
Turn the device off and disconnect the power cable from the device and the wall outlet.
Wait at least 60 seconds, then reconnect the power directly to a wall outlet and turn the device on.

Check the power source and cable
Plug the device into a different wall socket, avoiding extension cords or power strips.
Inspect the power cable for looseness, damage, or intermittent connection.

Observe startup indicators
When pressing the power button, check for lights, fan noise, or display activity.
Inconsistent or delayed indicators can point to a power initialization issue.

Disconnect external peripherals
Remove all external devices (USB devices, external drives, monitors, etc.).
Try starting the device with only the power cable connected.

Check internal power initialization (if accessible)
If this is a PC or laptop with a removable battery, remove the battery and test with AC power only.
If the device has no removable battery, repeat the power reset step carefully.

Verify BIOS/firmware behavior
Try entering the BIOS/UEFI during startup (using the appropriate key).
If the device only starts after power interruption, firmware may not be initializing correctly on first power-on.

Monitor for recurrence
After a successful start, shut the device down normally and power it back on.
If the issue repeats consistently, it indicates an underlying power or motherboard-related problem.

I hope this helps.
