HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0025xt

Hello, I have an HP Pavilion All-in-One - 27-xa0025xt on hand. Windows 10 was installed. The drivers were updated. And the latest Bios was downloaded through HP Support Assistant. The program updated the BIOS and asked to restart the PC. After pressing reboot, the PC turned on, but there is no image on the screen. Only the indicator light on the power button is on. The cooler in the back is working.

I tried resetting the BIOS by removing the battery, but there is no effect.

I tried writing the bios to a USB flash drive so that recovery would automatically trigger when the PC is turned on, but there is no reaction.

Hi @DudeInMeh

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It sounds like your HP Pavilion All-in-One has encountered a BIOS-related issue after the update, which can be tricky but not necessarily unfixable.

Let’s carefully go through some additional steps to recover your system:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Power off the PC and unplug it from the power source.

Disconnect all peripheral devices, including USB drives, printers, and external monitors.

Press and hold the Power button for 15-20 seconds to drain any residual power.

Plug it back in and try turning it on to see if the screen responds.

2. Trigger BIOS Recovery Using Key Combinations

HP PCs often support a BIOS recovery process that can be triggered manually:

Turn off the PC and ensure no USB drives are connected.

Hold down Windows key + B (or Windows key + V on some models) while pressing the Power button.

Keep holding the keys for 5-10 seconds until the recovery process begins (you may hear beeps or see the screen come to life).

3. Ensure the USB Recovery Drive is Set Up Properly

If you previously created a USB drive with the BIOS update, ensure it’s set up correctly for recovery:

Reformat the USB drive to FAT32.

Download the latest BIOS update for your specific model from the HP Support website.

Extract the BIOS files to the USB drive, making sure they’re in the root directory (not inside folders).

Plug the USB into the PC and repeat the Windows key + B method.

4. Check for Display Output

Test whether the issue is with the built-in display:

Connect an external monitor to the PC using HDMI or DisplayPort to check if there’s an output.

If the external display works, the problem could be with the internal display panel or connections.

If this solution hits the spot, please come back and click "Accepted Solution" to help others find the answer. And if you'd like to say thanks, select "Yes" on the bottom left of the public post, as that would make our day!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
