I had to change hard disk due to failure. I reinstalled windows 10 ok, but now I need to install linux in another free partition (dual boot). The problem is the enabled fast boot. I need to disable it to launch linux boot but I lost uefi password, created many years ago. I already tried changin reset jumpers and taking off cmos bactery, unsuccessfully. I tried also inserting 3 tiems a wrong password to get a system number, but it doesn'appare. Neither trhough advanced setting from widows start menù.
I don't won to change motherboard, please. thanks for a good suggestion.

You can install Linux distributions such as Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, Linux Mint: Debian Edition , Fedora, OpenSUSE and the upcoming Linux Mint 20 (to name a few), with secure boot or fast boot enabled.
HP Notebook: HP 14-dk0028wm
Current Operating System: Ubuntu 20.04 LTS

fast boot doesn't leave me to install from dvd or usb. It only starts with windows 10 and bypass any kind of other device's boot.
I need to change uefi parameter, but I'm asked for a password I Iost much time ago. Perhaps it could be possible by installing grub after windows starts, but I'm just newby with ubuntu and I'm not so skilled. I f I could access UEFI I'd have no problem.
