Hi @Mica82, I'm not familiar with this model - however checking USB boot should be quite simple. Below the most practical way - REMEMBER - ALL BIOS CHANGING ARE MADE ON YOUR OWN RISK - NOT SURE - DO NOT GO BEYOND POINT 4!
1. Download "live" system - I found the most secure one is the system which is not able to make any harm to your device / OS installed - my choice is usually "Tails"as it is bootable OS for USB without installation procedure within system. So first to do - download Tails OS
2. Use BalenaEtcher to write Tails OS to USB drive - Balena is Windows app (as well), easy and fast to use. USE ONLY EMPTY USB as Balena will erase all data from your USB stick.
3. Power-down your PC, insert OS Tails USB back to USB port and power PC back again.
4. In case your PC will boot back to Windows you will have to: check how to enter your BIOS setup (usually F10 to select boot or "Esc" to enter BIOS)
5. Restart your PC but this time press F10 or "Esc" as soon as system starts with HP logo.
6. You should have now possibility to choose your boot device - in case you can select USB it means it is OK to boot, otherwise you have to enter BIOS and check is USB on your boot-list.
Take a note on possible information displayed like "USB is not bootable device" "no system found" etc - in such a case you might need to change some BIOS settings - well, you need to be sure what are you going to do - otherwise it i easy to mess up and spend more hours trying to go back to standard BIOS settings!
Be careful with BIOS settings and check twice your standard settings (I used to make photo just in case :))
