@yuvi_1053, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error message suggests that your PC has restrictions applied by an administrator or a group policy setting that is preventing you from shutting down the system. Here are some possible solutions:
Method 1: Check Group Policy Settings
- Press Win + R, type gpedit.msc, and press Enter.
- Navigate to: User Configuration > Administrative Templates > Start Menu and Taskbar
- Look for "Remove and prevent access to the Shut Down, Restart, Sleep, and Hibernate commands".
- If it is Enabled, double-click it and set it to Not Configured or Disabled.
- Click Apply > OK, then restart your PC.
Method 2: Check Registry Editor
- Press Win + R, type regedit, and press Enter.
- Navigate to: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
- Look for a key named NoClose.
- If it exists and is set to 1, double-click it and change the value to 0.
- Restart your PC.
Method 3: Use Command Prompt to Force Shutdown
If you're unable to shut down via the Start menu, try this:
- Press Win + R, type cmd, and press Enter.
- Type: shutdown /s /f /t 0
and press Enter.
If this is a work or school laptop, your IT administrator may have restricted shutdown access. In that case, you should contact them for assistance.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
