Our desktop was still using Windows 7 and needed to be upgraded to Windows 10. After all the final installation of Windows 10, I kept getting a screen that says
WHEA UNCORRECTABLE ERROR
I believe I may need to update the driver(a) but can't get past the error screen to try to update the driver. Is there a way to check and try to update the driver if I can't get to the start screen?

Did you do a clean install of 10 or did you do it in place upgrade to 10? If you do an in place upgrade then the drivers should work. If you did a clean install you may have gotten the wrong drivers,
Please provide the Product ID or exact model name for better assistance. Preferably the full product ID including the characters after the # symbol. This code may be needed to find cloud recovery files.

Thanks for your reply. I'm not terribly tech savvy so I'm not exactly sure I can provide the info you are looking for. We have an HP desktop CPU that my husband uses. It's old and he doesn't like change. He started to be unable to access certain sites and was getting messages he needed to update his Chrome but couldn't because he was still using Windows 7.
I went online and purchased a product key for Windows 10. The CPU is old and took hours to download and install Windows It literally had finished everything and said installation and updates were 100% complete. At the final restart I got the WHEA Error code
Beside the driver the only other thing I can think of is that it overheated after working for hours

I need the model or product ID so I can find the drivers you need. if the PC is old the drivers may not be here at HP
this explains how to get the product id or model name. Serial number is no good, cant use.
