My PC has been very good since new (less than 12 months) but in the last month, it has been ridiculously slow to start, sometimes taking 5 minutes. Windows resides on a 256 GM SSD and start up used to be super quick. Now, it takes a while for the "Protected by HP" to come up and some considerable time more to present the sign in page. The disk operating light on the case doesn't flash at the start and then might flash once every 15 seconds or so. It finally presents the log in screen with a quick few flashes of the disk light. Once up and running, there are no issues. Any suggestions?

no exact PC told (an automated response )😂
800 gen what, or full models are best told if answers being correct or generic like mine. now.
for sure strange !!! all USB ports devices removed as a test first and DVD tray empty if have DVD sure.
Do you have other drives in the system?. if yes unplug them. testing 1,2,3,, we do all that first.
- is it stuck in BIOS..???? if yes, did you look for post errors or run F12 diagnostics first?
- once running did you go to explorer, right click the drive , pick properties, tools and do CHECK on C:? SSD?
- OS corrupted if login screens fail. is possible. do MS w10 inplace w10 to w10 upgrade (click keep files and apps)?
- bad SSD, nah. but I never fail to un my smart test app on any drive ever.
- BIOS is fast boot off, is BIOS set to verbose messages or long memory tests, or on some PC there is BIOS page called slow BIOS Mode, that allows F12 to be allowed not in 1second but 5s, (but gee 5min is not offered so no)
