Hi @TylerRichards44

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Victus 15L Gaming Desktop isn’t turning on but you see a blue light flash once when you try to power it on, this typically suggests that the power button is working, but there might be an issue with the power supply, motherboard, or internal components. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try to resolve the issue:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

Sometimes, a simple reset can fix power-related issues, especially if the power supply has become unstable.

Steps:

  1. Unplug the power cable from the desktop and make sure it’s disconnected from the power outlet.
  2. Hold down the power button on the front of the desktop for at least 15 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  3. After 15 seconds, plug the power cable back in and try to turn the system on again.

2. Check the Power Supply

The issue could be with the power supply unit (PSU), even if the power cable and outlet are functional.

Steps:

  1. Check the PSU light (if applicable): Some power supplies have a small LED light on the back or side that indicates whether they are receiving power. If the light is not on, the PSU may not be working properly.
  2. Test the power supply: If you have a multimeter or PSU tester, you can check the power supply’s output voltages to see if they are within the expected range (e.g., 12V, 5V, etc.).
  3. If you don’t have access to a tester, you may need to replace the power supply or take the system to a professional to verify if the PSU is functioning properly.

3. Reseat the RAM and Graphics Card (GPU)

Sometimes, loose or improperly seated RAM or GPU can cause the system not to boot up.

Steps:

  1. Turn off and unplug the desktop from the power source.
  2. Open the case of the Victus 15L (you may need a screwdriver).
  3. Reseat the RAM: Carefully remove the RAM sticks and reinsert them firmly into their slots.
  4. Reseat the GPU (if applicable): If you have a dedicated graphics card, ensure that it is properly seated in its PCIe slot.
  5. Once everything is reseated, close the case and try to power the system on again.

4. Check for Overheating or Short Circuits

If the system has been overheating or there’s a short circuit in the system, it may prevent it from powering on.

Steps:

  1. Inspect the internal components for signs of overheating or damage. Look for burn marks, damaged cables, or any signs of physical damage.
  2. If you see any loose wires or cables that could be shorting out the system, carefully reconnect them.

5. Clear the CMOS (Reset BIOS)

Sometimes the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) can become corrupted, preventing the system from booting.

Steps:

  1. Turn off the desktop and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Open the case and locate the CMOS battery (a small, round coin-cell battery on the motherboard).
  3. Remove the CMOS battery for 5–10 minutes to clear the BIOS settings.
  4. Reinsert the CMOS battery, close the case, plug the system back in, and try to power it on.

6. Look for Error Codes or Beeps

If there’s an issue with the motherboard or another key component, the system might emit a beep code or flash an error LED on the front panel (if supported).

Steps:

  1. Listen carefully for any beep codes when you try to power it on.
  2. If you hear a series of beeps, note the pattern (e.g., 1 long, 2 short) and refer to your Victus 15L manual or the HP support website for diagnostic codes.
  3. Some systems also have diagnostic LEDs that flash in certain patterns to indicate errors. If you see any flashing lights (other than the single blue flash), consult the manual or support documentation for the meaning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
