Hi,
I used to keep the external USB harddisks connected with my computers.
After the recent BIOS update F.11 Rev.A, I need to power off/disconnect the drives to boot the computer.
(today its only Version F.09 available)
If WD elements is connected:
Omen PC is caught within boot loop, no entering in BIOS or Boot selection is possible.
After getting in BIOS w/o connected WD Elements 16TB external HDD:
If you plug in / power on the WD external HDD, you got a hard reset / boot loop.
I did not get HP support since HP is not checking all USB compatibilies..
The only solution is to power off/ disconnect the external drives...
BIOS boot sequence:
USB Boot can't be disabled fully.
It's at 3rd or 4th place.
I tested this with an USB Flash Storage device and a Intenso (german brand) USB 2,5" hard drive as well.
There were no issues with these.
The WD HDD is not bootable formatted and no firmware updates available for the WD drive.
It seems to be related to POST/BIOS state of the computer.
thank you

That is suspicious. Possibly if you update using the HP assistant app it has access to files that have not been released to the web. I assume you are not a beta tester.
Iin BIOS, verify that "Windows Boot Manager" is selected along with secure boot. Where there any instructions that came with F.11 that referenced the TPM app? (Just a guess) Make sure you are not in legacy boot mode.
Thank you for using HP products and posting to the community.

Correct, I am not an Beta tester.
There is no issue with a possible Secure Boot option, since it happens before it's even possible to get into the BIOS - ( before even F8, F10 is having any effect) I think its having to do with the BIOS itself.
The windows boot is always set as primary boot device.
I can not really remember the text of the update, but somehow It's adding the XMP RAM profile selection which were in critics and not to available...
With the older BIOS the claimed DDR4 3733MHz RAM was running at 3200MHz.
It seems the BIOS is also effecting the RGB control of the RAM, which is not possible anymore.
