I am upgrading from a HP8300 SFF system to a smaller sized device - a HP 800 G1 USDT, which I can put under my monitor.
To do this I have bought an ex office device with windows 10 / 64 bit, pre installed on a 256Gb 2.5" ssd. This all tested OK upon receipt.
I upgraded the ram to 8Gb (from single 4Gb) and all still OK. Until I added a wireless keyboard and mouse, with usb dongle.
Upon rebooting the system I got an error message informing me that it was carrying out repairs (to windows 10), which then failed.
I was given the option to use function keys to proceed (F1 etc) but the keyboard was unresponsive.
A standard usb keyboard was tried and the system booted up OK again, no repair message, and with the mouse happily working via the usb wireless dongle.
It would seem that I will have to use a wired keyboard in the future, when I would really like to use wireless type to declutter my desk.
Can anyone throw light on this curious quirk ? Is the keyboard not being recognised early enough during boot to be registered as being connected ?
Thoughts, and maybe an answer, please.
