Hi @Drea23, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The error 0xc00000e9 indicates a hardware-related issue, often tied to storage devices. Since your HP Pavilion p6774y keeps rebooting to the same screen, it’s likely a hard drive failure or connection issue. Try these troubleshooting steps:

Disconnect External Devices

  1. Remove any USB devices (flash drives, external hard drives, printers, etc.).
  2. Restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Check BIOS for Drive Detection

  1. Turn off the PC.
  2. Power it on and press F10 repeatedly to enter BIOS.
  3. Look for Storage Configuration or Hard Drive Information.
  4. If your primary hard drive is missing, reseat it (Step 3).

Check Physical Hard Drive Connection

  1. Turn off the computer and unplug it.
  2. Open the case and check the SATA and power cables connected to the hard drive.
  3. Unplug and replug them securely.
  4. Try a different SATA port or cable if available.
  5. Close the case and restart.

Run Automatic Repair Using a Windows 7 Installation Disc

1. Insert a Windows 7 installation DVD or bootable USB.

2. Restart and boot from the installation media (Press F9 at startup to select boot device).

3. Select Repair your computer > Startup Repair.

4. If Startup Repair doesn’t fix it, go to Command Prompt and type:
bootrec /fixmbr
bootrec /fixboot
bootrec /scanos
bootrec /rebuildbcd

5. Restart and check if it boots properly.

Test the Hard Drive for Errors

  1. Boot into the Windows installation media as in Step 4.
  2. Open Command Prompt and run: chkdsk C: /f /r
(Replace C: with your system drive letter if different.)
  3. If errors are found, your hard drive may be failing.

Replace the Hard Drive (If Needed)

If your hard drive is not detected in BIOS or fails chkdsk, you may need to replace it and reinstall Windows.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
