Hi @Pulkit2002,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is not starting up and you were in the middle of a support session when it shut down, you may need to go through some troubleshooting steps to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you get your laptop up and running:

1. Basic Troubleshooting

**a. Check Power Supply:

  • Ensure Power Connection: Verify that the power adapter is properly connected to both the laptop and the power outlet.
  • Test Power Adapter: If possible, try using a different power adapter that is compatible with your laptop to rule out a faulty adapter.

**b. Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Disconnect Power: Unplug the power adapter and remove the battery (if it is removable).
  • Hold Power Button: Press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds to discharge any residual power.
  • Reconnect and Restart: Reinsert the battery, plug in the power adapter, and try turning on the laptop.

**c. Check Battery and LED Indicators:

  • Observe LEDs: Look for any LED indicators or signs of power when you try to start the laptop. This can give clues about whether the laptop is receiving power.

2. Diagnostic Steps

**a. Try Safe Mode:

  • Access Safe Mode: If the laptop turns on but does not boot into Windows, try accessing Safe Mode. You can do this by pressing F8 (or Shift + F8 on some models) repeatedly during startup to access the Advanced Boot Options menu, then select Safe Mode.

**b. Check for Error Messages:

  • Observe Boot Process: Note any error messages or beep codes during the boot process. These can provide clues about the underlying issue.

**c. Listen for Beep Codes:

  • Beep Patterns: If your laptop emits beep codes, refer to the HP support website or your laptop’s manual for interpretation.

3. Advanced Troubleshooting

**a. Boot from a Recovery Drive:

  • Create or Use Recovery Media: If you have a Windows recovery drive or installation media, try booting from it. You may need to change the boot order in the BIOS/UEFI settings to boot from USB or DVD.
  • Repair Startup: Use the recovery options to attempt startup repair or restore your system to an earlier state.

**b. Perform a BIOS Reset:

  • Access BIOS/UEFI: Try accessing the BIOS/UEFI settings by pressing a specific key (usually F2, F10, or Esc) during startup.
  • Reset to Default: Look for an option to reset BIOS/UEFI settings to their default configuration.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
