Product: HP Pavilion Laptop 14-dv1xxx (Product ID: 519L5EA#ABU)

BIOS: F.25 (05/02/2024)

OS: Windows 11

Issue:

My HP laptop suddenly froze and, after force shutdown and power on, went into Preparing Automatic Repair. It then showed a Watchdog error (“ran into a problem”) and got stuck in a repair loop.

I tried:

  • Startup Repair
  • System Restore
  • Uninstalling updates

None is working, and there is no “Reset this PC” option available.

I then tried reinstalling Windows using a bootable USB. During Windows Setup:

  • Only Disk 0 Partition 1: ESD-USB (29.2 GB) is visible
  • The internal SSD does not appear
  • DiskPart (list disk) shows only the USB

However, HP System Diagnostics detects the SSD and all tests pass.

Because of this, Windows cannot be installed or repaired. I need help regarding system to boot or allow Windows to be reinstalled.

Hi:

You need to load the Intel storage controller drivers in order for Windows to find the drive.

See this discussion for the drivers I attached because the forum is having issues and I can't attach anything right now:

Hi @Onnie_

I think your problem is something else. You have a 512 GB Intel NVMe drive and 32 GB of Intel Optane memory. This Optane has become disconnected from the drive, and it is usually very difficult to fix this problem. I recommend purchasing a new NVMe drive without Optane.
