HP ENVY Desktop - 795-0137cb
Microsoft Windows 11

Following a Windows Update, my desktop never fully boots...it stays with the HP logo and the spinning wheel below it.  I tried creating a USB boot image using Rufus, but while the USB flashes during boot, it still resolves to the HP logo and spinning wheel and stays there.  Tried various BIOS changes, even reverting back to default, but no luck.  Anyone have any ideas?

Hi

Do you recall Windows Update offering any HP Firmware updates in the last update?

You created bootable Windows USB installation media using Rufus. That's cool. I use Rufus.

You can also create generic W11 installation media for qualifying PCs at this link https://www.microsoft.com/software-download/windows11

Start the PC with USB media connected to the PC. Tap "ESC". Select "F9".

Select the UEFI USB media instead of Windows Boot Manager or the HDD/SSD system disk.

You can also try a Repair using the bootable USB installation media.

I appreciate the suggestions, but the problem persists.  I even created a new USB boot device from the MS website you mentioned, but it didn't work.  Also tried all the available USB ports on my system (front & back) and confirmed in the BIOS that the USB ports were active, but no luck doing that either.  I haven't yet tried creating a bootable DVD (as I don't have any blanks available), but I'll try that next.  As for the MS updates, I didn't notice any HP Firmware updates.

Any other ideas out there?
