The wireless keyboard and mouse (that came with the computer) do not work until Windows is started.
I want to make an image (ghost) from my hard drive using the Norton ghost 15.0 boot CD (but it also applies to other bootable devices).
When the CD boots and the program starts I have to click a button (OK / Accept) to continue. At this point the wireless keyboard and mouse are not active jet. Therefore I cannot continue.
Using a USB keyboard has the same result (also not active at this point).
Is there a solution / work around for this?
Thanks.

About the drivers sounds plausible. All the more because on my (older) laptop with Windows 10 bootable CD's (like Norton Ghost) do regognize keybord and mouse.
I will have a look at the new BIOS version, and start searching for newer tools that will accept my keyboard (and mouse).
Thanks.

You can try disabling Fast Startup.
- Open “Power options” in the Start Menu.
- Click “Choose what the power buttons do” on the left side of the window.
- Click “Change settings that are currently unavailable.”
- Under “Shutdown settings” make sure “Turn on fast startup” is disabled.
If you are using a USB 3 connector try using a USB 2 connector. Don't use a front panel connector.
Some [older] BIOS's have a setting to enable 'Legacy USB' support which will detect a USB keyboard/Mouse pre-OS. Not sure if it's still a factor with newer MOBO's and OS's.

Thanks for the tip.
I disabled "Fast startup” but unfortunately that didn't help (still no active keyboard with bootable devices).
Some more BIOS details (for me the BIOS is in Dutch so I don't know if I've all the settings names correct):
BIOS - Security
- All hardware available
- All USB ports enabled
- Startup with/to network on/enabled
- Secure boot
- Legacy support enabled
- Safe boot disabled
- Fast startup disabled

You should be looking specifically for a USB LEGACY SUPPORT setting in BIOS.
In my previous post I wasn't sure if modern motherboards still provided a USB Legacy Support setting. But I was just now reading the manual for a brand new Gigabyte G.1 Sniper motherboard and it does have a setting to enable USB Legacy Support.

I do not have a spesial section in the bios for USB legacy support. I only have Legacy support. I do have a section USB security which is enabled for all usb ports. If I disable them the wireless keyboard won't work in Windows either.
The PC has a Pegatron. motherbord (HP name: Odense) with a H110 chipset
Curiously enough - now that I think about it - When I power up the PC I am able to press F10 to enter the bios (and F9 for the boot sequence). So at that point they work. But when the bootable CD/DVD has started....

OK, so the keyboard and mouse DO work pre-OS/BIOS.
Norton Ghost 15 is an older program and specs show that it is compatible with XP, Vista, Win7.
Since you are booting directly from a CD, the disk must contain mouse/keyboard drivers.
I'm guessing that the Norton boot disk doesn't contain drivers that are compatible with your keyboard/mouse.
There is a BIOS update available that was just released June 19th 2016 [ sp74319.exe ] [Version A0.12 Rev.A] that fixes a number of issues. It doesn't specifically address your problem but may help.
