Hello
you mean, that even if you keep pressing the on/off button, even after a few seconds nothing happens?
Was something special done just before?

Promethee - Thank you. It was a simple fix, but I realize that I am having problems with my Norton 360 Security. Last night I had run a Full Scan (Norton) and that didn't seem to quite finish, yet at one point it did. After that I was having issues with several things - not responding, couldn't scroll, difficult time getting Settings to open. When it did open I couldn't just click on System, I had to type Power into the search bar. Finally I tried shutting down the normal way and that didn't work at all. I went to bed and this morning my PC was still on. It didn't go to Sleep etc. so I ended up touching the on/off power button and it shut down. I started it up again and then Norton said I had to do a Backup. So Default Backup was performed and after that Norton Alerted me that they had to do a Fix to the backup. That was 5 hours ago and it still was Fixing. I finally restarted the system and here we are. I'm sure Norton will be waiting for me after I am finished responding to you. Again, thank you. RWL4

Ok, so in this case, you should check the Norton settings, and don't let it do what you want.
modify the parameters, so that everything is done at your request, and / or the time desired by you, so as not to be blocked, if you do something, at the time when it must do analyzes, or backups
