Hi

I enabled secure boot on my z440 since then it beeps 6 times and I can't access the bios nor anything else.  No os was installed at that moment. Even adding an ssd with linux mint changed nothing.

I wouldn't be able to  help you with that either.

I've never had to do that on any HP business desktop PC I owned.

I did find this related post which may be of help to you and if not, I recommend that you start a new discussion on that topic.

Hi:

Do you have a video card installed?

If the video card you installed is not compatible with secure boot, the PC will give the 6-beep code error which is a video card error.

That might happen if you installed a legacy graphics card.

See chapter 4, page 91 of the service manual for how to troubleshoot the 6-beep code error.

Hi

I have the M4000 gpu.

I removed it and replaced it. I Tried it in the two slots and it changed nothing.

The only time it doesn't beep it's when there's no display port plugged in.

What do I do?

Hi:

Unfortunately, that I would not know.

I would disable secure boot and see if that resolves the problem and if it does, you will have to leave it that way.

I saw that the jumper was at the 2-3 pin position. After putting it to 1-2 it now beeps 8 times. If I understand correctly I have to flash the motherboard somehow. Can you help me with that please?

Thank you
