I have a Z6 G4 workstation that I'm setting up to install RHEL 8.  Every time the workstation boots up, I see a 517 memory fan error.  There is a memory fan there.  I performed the diagnostic and it didn't turn up with any error.

We just got a shipment of Z6 G4's in and we saw that error on 3 of ours. Our issue was the memory fan shroud that holds the memory fan has the power for the fan mounted in the column closest to the fan in an H shaped mount. On 2 of the 3, that power mount wasn't snapped into place so when you the shroud was mounted, it wasn't making that power connection to the motherboard. On those 2, I made sure that power cable (H shaped) was snapped into place (it will still be loose when mounted correctly but it shouldn't be able to be slid to the far right if it's snapped into place) and then when I mounted the fan shroud back into place with the 2 blue thumb locks the 517 BIOS memory fan error went away. On the 3rd Z6 G4, that power mount was snapped in but the whole shroud seemed like it wasn't snapped in correctly when I removed it so when I just put it back in it's place it snapped back in and the BIOS errors went away. (If you need a better description let me know)
