Here is an image of Aptio giving a BIOS file size error when trying to open 086F3F41.EXE using a Gigabyte MB.

Also change the open file dialog box to look for all files if you try the Aptio method.

@Paul_Tikkanen, not to beat a dead horse. But I could get to the HP USB BIOS recovery creation option for a different HP Desktop PC at this Forum thread.

Looked at all contents in both sp141980 (this thread) and sp145607 (the linked thread) using 7Zip.

Both files have a 102 file which contains the USB BIOS recovery creation option.

So I am really confused as to why one works and one does not??

Tried 141980 again after success with 145607 resulting in a fail. 😩

This post was just solved today using the same instructions I have provided to everyone else.

Yes, very perplexing. 

Creating the recovery drive using that file should work for everyone or no one.
