I recently attempted to update the bios firmware and the update did not complete.  I left the computer on for nearly a full day hoping it would complete but it was just stuck on a black screen.  Now it will not boot at all.  when I Power it up, I can hear the fan run and the keyboard lights up but it stays on a black screen.  I replaced the ram and the problem still remains.  How do I manually update the bios again from this point as I am pretty sure a failed bios update is to blame.

The only suggestion I can offer would be to create a USB BIOS recovery drive using another PC.

I was able to successfully create one for your PC on my Dell PC.

Watch this video for how to create the BIOS recovery drive.

After you get to the part where the drive has been successfully created, you can close out of the video.

This is the link to the latest BIOS update HP has for your PC:

After you create the USB BIOS recovery drive, follow the instructions that show up after the USB recovery drive has been successfully created.

1. Power off the device to be recovered.

2. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port.

3. Power on the device.

4. The device may reboot up to 3 times with indicator lights on the keyboard flashing, or the screen appearing blank for short time.

Hopefully, that will fix the problem for you.

If not, try making a BIOS recovery drive with one of the previous BIOS versions listed when you click to expand the Revision HIstory section at the bottom of the above driver page.
