Hi! My computer is older, I think it's from 2017? But it worked fine.

All of a sudden, I turned it on and it gave my "boot device not found errors". I did get pop-ups about driver being "out of store" but they always seemed fishy & never fixed the issue.

I BELIEVE my computer is a hp pavilion laptop pc 15-eh1000 (Black n red), but I have truly no idea.

Long story short, I bought a new hard drive and the issue still persists.

I've watched/read multiple tutorials and nothing has worked.

I've changed my BIOS setting to Legacy, and then back again and still not working. The "boot device not found. Please install an operating system on your hard drive. Hard Disk 3F0)" just changes then to "No boot device found. Insert disc and press any key to continue." I've scanned my computer in F2 settings in both in Legacy and not, and my hard drive passedd all checks, including quick and extensive. My system memory also passed.

I've tried to do the F11, but the error message of no boot device keeps overriding it and not allowing me to access that setting.

I really need my files; even if it's just a quick fix I just need to get some of my computer files. I really appreciate all help! thank you!!

Hi:

When you installed the new drive, did you also reinstall the operating system?

Storage drives do not come preinstalled with operating systems.

You won't have any files on the new drive.

They would have been on the one you removed.

Unfortauntely not, it's not allowing me to do anything else then what I mentioned above. It just happened very suddenly.

I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to operating tech. I just manually inserted the new hard driver and changed the old manually.

Even if i can't get files, it still be beneifical to still operate it. I'll just have to deal with lost data then 😞
