HP Pavilion All-in-One - 24-k0214a
Microsoft Windows 11

My all in one shows the HP logo and a spinning disc and nothing more. After some hours it tells me to start again.

What can I do?

Hi @Richard19631

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

If your HP Pavilion All-in-One 24-k0214a only shows the HP logo with the spinning circle, then eventually says to restart, Windows is likely failing during startup. This can be caused by a corrupted Windows update, damaged system files, a failing drive, or a hardware issue. I would request you to please follow the steps:

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn the PC off completely.
  2. Disconnect all USB devices (printers, external drives, dongles, etc.).
  3. Unplug the power adapter.
  4. Hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  5. Reconnect power and turn it on.

Run HP Hardware Diagnostics

  1. Turn the PC off.
  2. Turn it on and immediately tap F2 repeatedly.
  3. The HP PC Hardware Diagnostics screen should appear.
  4. Run:
    • System Tests
    • Storage/Disk Test
    • Memory Test

Try Windows Recovery Environment

  1. Power on the PC.
  2. When the HP logo appears, hold the power button until it turns off.
  3. Repeat this 3 times.
  4. On the next startup, Windows should show Preparing Automatic Repair.

If you reach recovery:

  • Select Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Repair.
  • Let it complete and restart.

If Startup Repair cannot fix the issue:

  • Go to Advanced Options → System Restore (if restore points exist).
  • Or Uninstall Updates and remove the most recent quality update.

Check BIOS

  1. Restart and press F10 repeatedly.
  2. In BIOS:
    • Verify the SSD/HDD is detected.
    • Press F9 for BIOS defaults.
    • Save and exit.

If the drive is not detected, that's a strong sign of a drive or connection problem.

Click for BIOS Recovery.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I'm an HP Employee.
