can i use a dell dock with a hp laptop and dell monitor? I connected it all and it would not charge the laptop

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

Each OEM may use proprietary power connection pinouts on components such as docking stations.

 

I would not pair a Dell docking station with a HP Laptop. I would not connect any non-HP approved power source to a HP computing device.
