HP Pavilion Slim Line
Microsoft Windows 11

Had a local power outage for a few minutes. When I turned the computer on, I got an error message about rebooting so I selected SMART Check. The error message was 'Not Installed'; so I tried Short DST, got the same message I went to my Laptop to access the 'For more information please visit: www.hp.com/go/techcenter/PCDiags. Apparently my PC is a 2014 model and the warranty expired '6 months after purchase. Anyway, I've had it repaired twice for ' Device not Found', to the cost of over $200. The error message then was 'Please install an operating system on the Hard Disk. This was what the HP repair service indicated was done months ago. HP tech support is not available so I'm hoping the HP Community can help me. Thank you

Hi @AliB52,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Do not worry, I'd be happy to help you!

This error indicates a hardware issue. ut the support here is limited to software troubleshooting. However, since the unit might need repair, I would request you to contact HP Phone support who would have an option to schedule a repair.

For that to happen, we will give you additional instructions/information via Private Message.

Please check your inbox on the forums page for the private message.

If the information I've provided was helpful, give us some reinforcement by clicking the Accepted Solution button, that'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
