Touchsmart 610-1130f
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I created a new partition from a large partition on my 3TB WD HDD to clean install windows.I used a programme to achieve that, comp could not recognize my HD after that.Restarted my comp to see it get hanged at the Hp logo, restarted again to enter into bios or any of the F key menu which also hangs there.I removed the HD and comp was able to bypass the Hp logo successfully and even enter into the F key menus. With HD still removed I created a bootable pen drive and the comp hanged up at the Hp logo again.I inserted an external HD and stillface the same challenge.

Hi

"With HD still removed I created a bootable pen drive and the comp hanged up at the Hp logo again."

So you have the means to make a USB stick with no HDD involved, on another PC?

When the 3 Tb is installed nothing works.  You have a failed / faulty HDD.

So make the 3Tb an external drive on another PC and format it, try the Manufaturers site for tools, like Seagate Disc Wizard or whatever.

A new DVD drive is only a few quid so consider fitting one.

Hi

There can be a problem with HDD's over 2 TB, and so you may have to start smaller.

https://support.hp.com/gb-en/product/hp-touchsmart-610-1100-desktop-pc-series/5080777/model/5117440/...

The machine is listed as W8.x and a 750 Gb disk.  So have you upgraded, and if so when?

What program was used to create the partition?  Did it shrink and create free space?

I assume it is UEFI and GPT, not an MBR type.

Please explain as best you can.

I upgraded to 3Tb 2 years ago and was working fine.I used EaseUS and it was not MBR.

Hi

Try

https://gparted.org/

With GParted you can resize, copy, and move partitions without data loss, enabling you to:

  • Grow or shrink your C: drive
  • Create space for new operating systems
  • Attempt data rescue from lost partitions

https://www.ubuntu.com/download/desktop  -it will run Gparted if needed.
