I occasionally encounter the following error message during boot on my HP Z2 Mini G9 workstation. When the error appears, the system fan immediately ramps up to maximum speed and continues running at that level while the error message remains on the screen until I press Enter. After pressing Enter, the system proceeds to boot normally.

This issue occurs intermittently – sometimes at every boot, other times not for several days.

The only hardware modification I made after purchase was the installation of a Bluetooth module with an antenna. I have not changed or removed any other components. The original fan remains installed and properly connected.

My BIOS and drivers are regularly updated and currently up to date. I purchased the workstation about a year ago, and the issue has persisted through several updates.

Greetings @klicpi

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Is your PC in warranty?

You have been updating the BIOS. This is good.

Try troubleshooting steps at this HP Site.

I can't see a Bluetooth add-in component causing this problem. It would not hurt to remove this component upgrade for a while to see how it goes.

You might need warranty factory service if you cannot solve the problem.

Yes, it is still under warranty. Since I need the computer every day, I wanted to avoid sending it in for service. Thanks for the suggested steps to try; unfortunately, none of the troubleshooting steps has worked.

Greetings @klicpi

My pleasure.

Maybe try a CMOS reset. But you have been updating the BIOS so CMOS would have been reset after each BIOS update.

The fan might need replacing. Or the PC has some kind of intermittent fan detection BIOS/MB problem.

Regards
