Hi @ko99,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Undoing a BIOS update, also known as downgrading the BIOS, can be a bit tricky, but it's possible. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to revert to a previous BIOS version:

Step 1: Identify Current and Previous BIOS Versions

Find Current BIOS Version:

  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup by pressing a specific key (usually F2, F10, Delete, or Esc) during startup. The key to press is often displayed briefly on the screen during the boot process.
  • Once in the BIOS setup, look for the BIOS version information, usually found on the main screen or system information tab.

Download Previous BIOS Version:

  • Visit the official support website of your PC or motherboard manufacturer.
  • Search for your specific PC or motherboard model.
  • Locate the BIOS section and find the previous version you want to revert to. Download the BIOS file and any associated flashing tools.

Step 2: Prepare for BIOS Downgrade

Create a Bootable USB Drive:

  • Format a USB drive to FAT32.
  • Copy the downloaded BIOS file and the flashing tool to the USB drive.

Backup Current BIOS Settings:

  • Before proceeding with the downgrade, it's a good idea to note down your current BIOS settings. Take photos or write down important settings in the BIOS setup.

Step 3: Perform the BIOS Downgrade

Boot into BIOS Setup:

  • Insert the USB drive into your PC.
  • Restart your computer and enter the BIOS setup again.

Initiate BIOS Flashing:

  • Look for a BIOS update or flash utility option in the BIOS setup. This option may be labeled as "EZ Flash", "M-Flash", "Q-Flash", or similar, depending on your motherboard manufacturer.
  • Select the option to update the BIOS and choose the BIOS file from the USB drive.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to flash the BIOS with the previous version.

Step 4: Restore BIOS Settings

  1. Reconfigure BIOS Settings:
    • After the downgrade is complete, your BIOS settings may be reset to default. Re-enter any custom settings you noted earlier.
  2. Save and Exit:
    • Save the changes and exit the BIOS setup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
