This was the last BIOS update HP released for your AIO PC:

Version 80.08:

HP 18-1201ix All-in-One Desktop PC Software and Driver Details

The BIOS update was written to be run on Windows 8.1, so I can't tell you what the outcome will be if you run the update on Windows 11.

sorry for late reply
will compatibility mode not work? if no im ready to install win 8.1 as i dont want it bricked or broken

I would have no idea.

You can try it.

FWIW, I have updated the BIOS' in some of my PC's and notebooks running W11 where the BIOS updates were written for W8.1/W10 and never had a problem, but since I don't have your PC, I have no idea what the outcome will be in your situation.

You have to ask yourself two questions:

1. Why do you want to update the BIOS?

Is there something in the BIOS release notes that fixes a problem or adds an enhancement you would like?

2. Do you feel lucky?

the reason im updating is im getting a error called "keyboard error" i have verbose logo off so i always the error and it gets stuck there it just loops there, to even boot my pc i need luck its 30/100 chance it will boot if i continuously reboot while i unplug all the usb devices and continuously replug my keyboard and by getting stuck i mean fully frozen even clt+alt+del doesnt do any thing i have to fully turn the power switch off (i live in india we have power switchs on our board) which is pretty annoying

no it doesnt work on win 11 it only extracts the installer in C:\SWSetup\SP69883 then nothing happens when i click the installer, i am downloading a win 8.1 iso from internet archive to try it in that

im pretty unlucky most of the time 🥲

HP Recommended

That's unfortunate.

I doubt it will work on W8.1 either if you ran the installer from inside the folder and nothing happened.

But I guess you have nothing to lose by trying it.

There is no revision history of previous updates.

Does your PC have the ROM Family SSID 2B00?

It doesn't make sense that the file won't run.

It should run and at least give an error, PC not supported...things like that, or it should run and work.

When I click on the AY4_8008 file in the folder on my Dell Optiplex 7020 MT running W11 Pro 64 bit, it launches and asks me if I want to run the file.

A that point, I cancel it because I don't want to take any chances with it.

The release notes for the BIOS update only indicate improved security of UEFI code and variables.

HP strongly recommends promptly transitioning to this updated BIOS version which supersedes all previous releases.

So, it doesn't appear that the BIOS update would fix a keyboard error.

Have you set the BIOS to its defaults, save the changes and restart the PC?

nope i don't hv any errors, even in task manager its not there
is it because i reinstalled windows instead of the in windows option and even the iso isn't official its a custom iso called tiny11 22h2 + it had ubuntu i think, it has a ubuntu sticker on the back

i do have ubuntu 24.02 installed as I'm more of a linux guy

from msinfo32

if it isn't here idk how to check if it has  ROM Family SSID 2B00

if ur talking about UEFI it does support it

oh yea i tried to install win 8.1 but forgot i cant even enter the bios if i press any f key it says it is going in that bios menu but it is just frozen in the text screen
idk what to do

Yes, you have the right BIOS family--Baseboard product 2B00 as shown in your second screenshot.

Not sure why Tiny 11 doesn't allow you to run the file.

I have Tiny 11 on a HP Thin Client t630 that was not designed to run a full version of Windows, and I could run any exe file I wanted with it.

There is a way to clean install the standard version of W11 with Rufus that bypasses the W11 hardware checks:

I have used this method several times to clean install W11 on unsupported PC hardware on PCs that can run a full version of Windows.

You can download the latest W11 ISO file from the link below (3rd option).

even tho im a kid im pretty smart in PCs just couldnt figure this out by myself

darkknight2_0-1730397218359.png

and even if i try to install win 11 with all the bypass methods i wont be able to run the exe as the default win11 lag is crazy even when i optimized it to important services(i wasnt able and didnt delete any win files tho) it laged like crazy like waiting 3 sec for taskmgr to load, even if i installed it, ran the exe, i dont think it will work as it turns out i just needed to change my keyboard.

tho thanks for support and sorry for wasting ur time

You're very welcome.

Glad it was an easy fix.

It was not a waste of my time

It was a learning experience for both of us
