My desktop was originally configured with a 512 GB NVME.2 SSd.
I cloned this SSD to a Samsung 1TB NVME.2 drive.
After replacing the 512GB ssd with the 1TB NVME.2 drive, the unit does not boot
Boot message
Inaccessible Boot device
I am trying to find out if this desktop will support a 1TB SSD.
Getting information from HP's technical support is next to impossible

Welcome to our HP User Forum!
Your HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-0150xt CTO (7BB48AV), according to: https://partsurfer.hp.com/partsurfer/?searchtext=7BB48AV&searchby=product, is fitted with the Rother motherboard with SSID: 8653 (HP p/n: L56019-601 "Mother board - Rother,Intel CFL H370,WIN".
This motherboard has one M.2 NVMe Gen 3 x4 SSD socket, which can be fitted with any size M.2 drive, certainly a 1TB drive such as this HP ENVY TE01-0xxx benchmark showing a Samsung 970 Evo Plus NVMe PCIe M.2 1TB (System drive): https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/55508391.
There could be several reasons why your desktop is not able to access the 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, some of which include:
Incorrect BIOS settings: The BIOS settings may not be set correctly to recognize the M.2 NVMe SSD as a bootable device. [possible: have you checked your BIOS settings?]
Faulty hardware: The M.2 NVMe SSD or other hardware components may be faulty or damaged, preventing the desktop from accessing the storage device. [less likely, but needed to be mentioned.]
Driver issues: The drivers required to operate the M.2 NVMe SSD may not be installed or may be outdated, causing the desktop to be unable to access the storage device.
[possibly: Here are the steps I would follow if your issue were mine:
Download and run Intel's "Driver & Support Assistant" from here: Intel® Driver & Support Assistant. Btw, no need to keep it installed after this utility program checked your drivers.
Visit HP's "Software and Driver Downloads" site here: HP ENVY Desktop PC TE01-0000i Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Customer Support (Official HP® Drivers and Software Download | HP® Customer Support) and make sure you got the latest BIOS version (F.45 Rev.A).
If applicable, run the installation file(s) and follow the on-screen instructions to install the driver(s).
After any driver is installed, restart your desktop to ensure that the changes take effect.
Check if the issue is resolved.]
Corrupted operating system: The operating system may be corrupted, preventing the desktop from accessing the M.2 NVMe SSD. [possible: if all else fails, I would use Macrium Reflect Free to repeat the cloning process.]
It's important to properly diagnose the root cause of the issue in order to determine the best course of action to take to fix the problem.
Hope this was helpful.

Thank you very much for the information.
The computer came with a 512GB Intel NVME M.2 SSd, it works fine.
I wanted to upgrade to a 1TB or 2 TB SSd.
I used Macrium reflect to clone the 512GB SSd to both a 1TB and 2TB NVME M.2 SSD's.
Neither of them will boot.
I will check the drivers.
I downloaded the latest Bios last week.
I am going to try the cloning process again.
Thank you

The Macrium Reflect cloning process is explained very well in these YouTube instructional videos -please watch them and see if they provide any additional insight. These vids mostly mirror each other, but they also complement each other: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LoRg0AFBKI, and: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3RgI2kGCvjM.
When it comes to cloning an M.2 drive (and not having a second M.2 slot available) I would recommend using a basic M.2 to USB adapter such as this purchase example: https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Converter-Portable-Support-Windows/dp/B07VVNGYFV/ref=sr_1_11?crid=1LJ..., but you likely have something like this already.

Just giving you an update on my progress.
I purchased a new Samsung SSD 980 1TB drive
I used Macrium Reflect and cloned my 512GB SSD to the 1TB SSD.
After replacing the 512GB with the cloned 1TB SSd, i got the same results.
Message:
Windows Inaccessible Boot device
Using Macrium to view the partitions on the 1TB drive, all the partitions look correct.
It is a bit frustrating.
Thanks
