This is not good.  Please read the following and try the Windows key + B

https://support.hp.com/lv-en/document/ish_3932413-2337994-16

If that does not work then you can download either the latest bios or possible an older bios.  Please read the instructions on how to prepare the USB flash.

go here

download F44 rev a

if 44 does not work then scroll down and try 42

use a USB flash that had an LED so you can tell if it is booting or not.

Thanks for your suggestion i used a led ended usb and downloaded the 44r and 42 but no luck still it will kick the fans for a second then power back off, I took the battery out for 30 seconds and still not a change. Is there a quick solution to get me back up and running?

The LED should flash when powered up.  If it does not flash when doing the B key then there is not enough of the bootstrap left to read the flash drive.

Did you do the hard reset  "step 1"  Did you remove any PCIe boards (if any) from the system?  If USB keyboard, did you see any of the keyboard LEDs flash a few times (not just once) a few seconds after the initial powering up?

Some HP systems sold at clubs l(Sams, Costco, etc) have more than 12 month warranty and can be returned to the club.

get a quote for repair.  explain that a microsoft update installed an unwanted bios

I suspect you have a "BakerMS" motherboard.  Look for an HP part number and see if it matches or looks like the following

The 8 pin chip at the top left can be re-programmed using inexpensive USB devices.  Some shops can do it but a replacement motherboard might be cheaper.

Yes the flash drive does flash red a couple of times actually before it shuts back down but the keyboard nor monitor ever show any response. I plugged my laptop in to my monitor to make sure it wasn't the issue, I done the reset of the battery. Thank you for your help, I will look at the links you sent.
