After a power outage my pc wouldn't turn on. No lights, no response from on/off button. Shorted pin 14 on 24 pin connector to determine power supply was functioning. In desperation vs. buying a new mb I removed the Cmos battery and reinserted it. Power is back! Now just need a 2032 battery instead of a new pc. In researching this I didn't come across cmos as a power up solution but for me it was.

P.s. No post, no beep. Shorted the power switch contacts to eliminate it. The CMOS battery was the solution.
