my computer (HP Pavilion HPE h8-1114) will not startup past the "press esc to startup menu"

my pc wont boot up past the hp press esc to start screen, but if I rapid fire press the esc button I get into the black and white screen that has my computer specs on it and I cant get past that. i am unable to get into the bios and I haven't been able to use the win + b trick. help please, its getting frustratin

Welcome to the HP Forum.

Your PC is out of HP mainstream support.

You can't get to the BIOS or the Startup screen. The PC halts at the POST screen.

Try changing the CR2032 MB battery. I don't think this will help but it is an inexpensive troubleshooting step.

Run the PC in a minimum config. Disconnect all internal drives (HDDs and optical). Disconnect front panel USB including the USB card reader. Try onboard graphics if the PC supports this option. Disconnect the WIFI card if you have one.

Run the PC with only one stick of RAM. Try no RAM to see if you get a missing RAM error at POST.

It's not looking good at this point in time.
