To help everyone who has the issue with putting the feature byte back into a virgin motherboard.
1- Download HP Bios Configuration Utility
2- cd C:\Program Files (x86)\HP\BIOS Configuration Utility
3- BiosConfigUtility64.exe /get:config.txt #This will read the bios of your system, and store it in a text file <config.txt>
4- Edit the config.txt with notepad #paste the feature byte from HP partsurf site that matches you system serial number and save the file , make sure to remove the spaces from img1 and img2
5- BiosConfigUtility64.exe /set:config.txt # This will write the bios configuration to the bios eeprom.
6- If there are no error messages, then the program will ask you to restart your computer.
7- If there are errors, fix them , and try again
Hope this helps easing your suffering
