Hi @BYRON14,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
It seems that your HP 15.6-inch laptop is booting up but failing to display the login screen, which can be frustrating. Since HP support has classified this as a software issue, here are a few troubleshooting steps that might help resolve it.
Perform a Hard Reset
- Power off your laptop.
- Unplug any external devices like USB drives, printers, or external hard drives.
- Hold the power button down for about 15 seconds to fully discharge the capacitors.
- Restart your laptop to see if the login screen appears.
Enter Safe Mode
- Restart the computer and as it starts to boot, press F8 or Shift + F8 repeatedly.
- Select Safe Mode from the Advanced Boot Options menu.
- If the login screen appears in Safe Mode, it could be a software conflict. You may want to uninstall recently added software or updates.
- You can also try running a System Restore to a point before the issue occurred.
Use Startup Repair
- Restart the laptop and hold F11 during startup to enter HP’s Recovery Manager.
- From here, select Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
- This will check for issues preventing Windows from loading correctly.
Reset Windows
- If the above methods don’t work, you may need to reset Windows to factory settings. This will remove all files and applications but can fix software-related problems:
- Press F11 during boot to access the HP Recovery Manager.
- Choose Troubleshoot > Reset this PC.
- Follow the instructions to perform a full reset.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
