no "firmware management" on hardware diagnostics uefi

i'm trying to update the bios from a usb but the hp pc hardware diagnostics uefi doesn't have a "firmware management" option so I don't know how to proceed.  thank you!

Welcome to the HP Forum.

It sounds like your PC can't do a BIOS update within Windows.

Check this HP Site for BIOS recovery options using a USB recovery drive. Scroll down to "Recover the BIOS". Then select "Recover the BIOS using a USB recovery drive. Follow steps to create and use the USB BIOS recovery drive to recover your PC's BIOS.

You can also try other BIOS recovery steps available at the above HP site to see how it goes.

Also check this HP video for additional tips on updating the BIOS outside of the operating system.

Note, you will lose access to Windows and all data on the OS drive if the PC's OS drive is encrypted using BitLocker. BitLocker needs to be off before flashing the BIOS.

You may already be in trouble if the OS drive is encrypted and you cannot run Windows without flashing the BIOS. I hope you routinely do data backups
