computer power light is on - has black screen. I have pushed the power button for 30+ seconds with power unplugged. All other devises are unplugged other than keyboard and mouse (wireless). I plug power back in and power up - result is: power light is solidly lit and black screen with no fan sound or drive sound.

Look for a "rocker" switch near where the AC power cord connects to the computer's power-supply.
Rock that switch to the opposite position, and press the ON/OFF button. Anything? Noises? Lights?
Do you feel any air being pushed out from the fan inside the power-supply?
Disconnect the AC power cord.
Remove the side panel.
Reconnect the AC power cord.
Look for a small lit-up lamp on the motherboard, if the power-supply is supplying power. Possibly not present!
Press the ON/OFF button.
Look at the fan(s) -- any spinning after you press the button?
Press the button to open the CD/DVD tray.
Does its motor get enough electrical power to open the tray?
If not, then you have a "blown" power-supply.

HP all-in-one Model 23-r117c Will NOT start up. Pushing power button starts to work but does not get to any display and then immediately shuts down. This process lasts less than 15 seconds. Just above the power cord connection there is a light which remains lit as long as the power cord is plugged in. During this short process, you can push the CD eject button and it works. Also, the fans work for this short period.
Any suggestions?
