Hi @LOC7,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I hear you have frequent crashes on a gaming desktop like your Victus by HP 15L TG02-0000a can be incredibly frustrating, especially when diagnostics and temperatures seem fine. Let's walk through the most effective HP-recommended steps to help you get back to smooth performance.

Step-by-Step HP Troubleshooting for Crashes

1. Update All Drivers and BIOS

Outdated or corrupted drivers are a common cause of system instability. HP recommends downloading the latest drivers directly from their support page:

Make sure to:

  • Install the chipsetgraphics, and BIOS updates.
  • Restart after each major update.

2. Check Event Viewer for Crash Logs

Use Windows Event Viewer to identify the cause:

  • Press Win + X → select Event Viewer.
  • Go to Windows Logs > System and look for red error entries around the time of the crash.

Let me know what you find I can help interpret the logs.

3. Run HP PC Hardware Diagnostics (Offline)

Even if the online diagnostics passed, the offline version may catch deeper issues:

  • Restart your PC and press Esc repeatedly.
  • Select F2 for diagnostics.
  • Run System Tests > Extensive Test.

4. Check for Software Conflicts

If crashes started after installing new apps or updates:

  • Try Safe Mode (Shift + Restart → Troubleshoot → Advanced Options → Startup Settings).
  • Uninstall any recent software or updates.

5. Perform a Clean Boot

This disables third-party services temporarily:

  • Type msconfig → go to Services tab → check Hide Microsoft services → click Disable all.
  • Restart and test stability.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
