Hi @brookewitt

Thank you for your response

If your HP Omen desktop won't turn on, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the issue:

Verify Power Supply:

  • Ensure that the power cable is securely connected to both the power outlet and the back of the desktop.
  • Check if the power outlet is functioning by plugging in another device to see if it powers on.

Check the Power Button:

  • Press the power button and observe if there are any light indicators or sounds. An unresponsive power button might indicate an internal connectivity issue.

Check Power Supply Unit (PSU):

  • Make sure the switch on the PSU is in the "on" position (if applicable).
  • If you have a spare power cable, try using it to rule out the possibility of a faulty cable.

Inspect for Loose Connections:

  • Open the desktop case carefully if you are comfortable doing so. Check for any loose cables or connectors, especially the ones connected to the motherboard and power supply.

Perform a Hard Reset:

  • Unplug the power cable from the desktop.
  • Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the power cable and attempt to turn on the desktop again.

Examine LED Indicators:

  • Some Omen desktops have LED indicators that provide diagnostic codes. Note any blinking patterns that could indicate hardware issues.

Listen for Beep Codes:

  • If your desktop has a speaker, listen for beep codes after attempting to power it on. These codes can help diagnose specific hardware failures.

External Components:

  • Disconnect all external devices except for the keyboard, mouse, and monitor to see if an external component is preventing startup.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
