I have purchased a SDD going from HDD because i need more storage in order to download games on my pc. However when i install the SSD i get the "boot device not found." When I go into bios And then boot options my new SSD is not there.

Greetings @Xavierpatte

I would think the new SSD may be faulty or you did not install the drive in the PC correctly if the drive is not present in the BIOS Storage Menu.

The new drive would not appear as a bootable drive in the HP UEFI Startup Menu (tap "ESC" at startup) unless you cloned the OS from the HDD to the new SSD. Or you imaged the new SSD using a HDD system backup image stored on different media.

Or you did a HP Cloud Recovery to the new drive. Or you did a clean Windows install.

The new drive has to be detected in the BIOS and you need an operating system on the new drive for it to appear in the HP Boot Menu.

So I am not sure what's happening using the info you are providing.
