I can't log on to my HP Envy TE01 because of this message.  "Somethinng happened and your PIN isn't available."  When I click on "set up my pin", the  error message appears again.

I've used the command prompt, entered regedit and choose Load Hive on This PC but there are no files on my Windows C drive.

Is there another way to get past the error message?

Thanking you all in advance.

Hi @Jean6653

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It appears that you are encountering an issue with the PIN login on your HP Envy TE01. This problem can typically be resolved by following these steps:

Option 1: Use Alternate Login Methods

Restart your computer:

  • Sometimes, a simple reboot can resolve temporary issues with PIN login.
  • Click on the Start menu, select Power, and then Restart.

Use your password:

  • On the login screen, look for the option to use your password instead of your PIN.
  • Click on "Sign-in options" and select the password option.

Option 2: Delete and Recreate the PIN

Log in using your password:

  • Enter your password to log in to your account.

Navigate to Settings:

  • Go to Settings from the Start menu.
  • Select Accounts and then Sign-in options.

Remove the current PIN:

  • Under PIN (Windows Hello), click on Remove.
  • Confirm the action when prompted.

Create a new PIN:

  • After removing the old PIN, click Add under PIN (Windows Hello).
  • Follow the prompts to set up a new PIN.

Option 3: Reset Windows Hello

Open Windows Settings:

  • Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.

Reset Windows Hello:

  • In the Sign-in options, look for Windows Hello settings.
  • Click on Manage and then Reset to reset all Windows Hello settings.
  • After resetting, follow the prompts to set up your PIN again.

Option 4: Use Safe Mode

Enter Safe Mode:

  • Restart your PC and press F8 repeatedly until you see the boot menu.
  • Select Safe Mode from the menu.

Log in using your password:

  • Safe mode will allow you to log in using your password.

Follow the steps mentioned above to remove and recreate your PIN.
