Hi @Glorious2,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

The error message "Unsupported adapter installed" on your HP All-in-One PC 24 typically relates to a hardware compatibility or detection issue. Since you haven’t installed any new adapters and the device is relatively unused, the problem may be related to internal components, such as the memory (RAM), power supply connections, or other hardware faults. Here’s a step-by-step guide to resolve the issue.

Power Reset the PC

  • Disconnect the power cord from your All-in-One PC.
  • Hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect the power cord and try powering it on.

Check External Connections

  • Disconnect all external devices (USB drives, external hard drives, peripherals).
  • Reboot the PC to see if the issue persists.

Inspect the Hardware

  • If you’re comfortable opening the back of the All-in-One:
    1. Turn off the PC and unplug it from the power source.
    2. Open the back panel following the user manual's instructions.
    3. Check for:
      • Loose or improperly seated RAM sticks. Remove and reseat them carefully.
      • Any visible damage or disconnections inside the case.
    4. Securely reconnect internal cables, especially for components like the power supply and motherboard.

Reset BIOS

  • Turn off the computer and unplug it.
  • Look for a CMOS reset button or jumper on the motherboard (consult your user manual).
  • Press and hold the CMOS reset button for 10-15 seconds or move the jumper to reset.
  • Plug the computer back in and try starting it again.

Update or Reinstall Firmware (if it boots)

If you manage to boot into the system:

  • Visit the HP Support website and check for firmware or BIOS updates for your model.
  • Install any available updates to ensure hardware compatibility.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
