Hello,

So I own an hp compaq 8300 Elite CMT system. It says online it can hold up to32gb Ram. However it is only allowing me 1 4gb Ram stick inside the PC. My questions are these:

1. What is the maximum ram limit for this device?

2. If it is higher than 4gb, why is it when I insert another ram stick the PC doesn't boot up but then beeps 5 times and the fan gets super loud?

3. Is there a fix to this issue so I can use the maximum ram allowed?

To clarify this is the i5 model of PC...

Hi:

The PC can support up to 4 x 8 GB of DDR3L-1600 memory.

See page 9.

There could be a couple of reasons why it isn't working such as the memory you are trying to install isn't compatible, or you are not firmly seating the memory in the memory slot.

This memory should work fine in your PC:
