when i boot the computer it has a black screen with a cursor that rotates

Hi

 

Is this a result of a Windows update? This spinning image means your PC cannot load Windows for some reason.

 

Could be hardware. Shut down. Restart the PC. Tap "ESC".

 

Select "F2". Run system and component tests.

 

A pass suggests you have MBR corruption. I have never had much luck fixing MBR corruption. Maybe someone else can assist if hardware tests are okay.
