Desktop HP
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

hi, I need help, I have an hp desktop that turns off after 5/10 minutes with a warning that says "Your PC is overheating", even if it has no active process or applications that can lead to overheating it. WHY?

shutting down

Greetings,

Welcome to the forum.

I am not a HP employee.

Do you regularly (once every six months) clean the internals using compressed air or a dust buster? Dust buildup will cause components to over heat and reduce chassis airflow

Some component connected to the motherboard or the motherboard is getting hot, or motherboard thermal sensing components are giving false temperature readings.

I would contact HP Support (Link) if in warranty. Have a local PC tech take a look to find the problem if you are out of warranty.

Regards
