Microsoft Windows 11

I shut down my desktop every night.  Originally it loaded up in about 30 sec. But now start up the next morning takes 4 or 5 minutes even though the computer has an SSD. Towards the end of the startup process, the screen flashes a few times, then several flashes quickly with some clicks (goes through this a couple of times.

With Windows 11, I thought this might be a new PC, but then I did a search on the model and saw some of these came out years ago -- so this is more likely a Win10 desktop that you upgraded to Win11 and replaced the HDD with an SSD, right?

Has this slowdown been gradual over time, or is it something that suddenly happened a while back and stayed bad ever since?

Problem seemed to appear at one time. Computer is about a year ago and it came with win 11 and the SSD.  I may have solved the problem. I shut down a lot of the startup programs and it seemed to help, although it was  slow today.  I'm going to keep playing with the list to see if I can completely fix this.  I'll let you know.

You should consider downloading and installing Wise Disk Cleaner -- as it has an option to speed up the boot process by making it easy to disable stuff.

Good Luck
