Recommendation of a 1 TB SSD to replace my present hard drive in the HP 27-a257c all-in-one computer.

Most any SSD designed to replace a 3.5" SATA drive should be OK using an adapter made to use a new SSD in place of an existing 3.5" drive.
You cannot use a M.2 drive. The SSD manufacturer might include the adapter as part of the packaging, mine did. Samsung, PNY, and Crucial are popular brand names but many more exist. Shop your budget when it comes to capacity.
