Hello, i was wondering if this gpu (1050 ti gigabyte 1fan edition) would work with my motherboard from my hp 6200 pro sff pc, i wanna put the motherboard in a atx case and use it with the 1050ti (it has a full length bracket and so does the case i want to change it to),  i know the 1050 ti uses only 75watt power from the motherboard pcie. will it stutter in games or anything like that? btw my cpu is a i5 2320

That HP motherboard does not have a 24 pin connector for ATX power.  It may be possible to fit it into an ATX case but you will have to mod the case.  Your 6200 has a 240 watt propriety power supply.

I recommend you exchange your 1050 ti for a low profile gt 1030

i want to use the same psu. and the gpu gets 75 watt from the motherboard , its not exactly a atx case its a hp compaq mid tower case its like with feet and has lenght for a full sized gpu bracket not a sff one, and i was thinking if it would work with the gpu , currently its in the same case and i am using a amd radeon r5 340x 2gb gpu but i want a 1050 ti to play games and do stuff in photoshop.

Hi!

I got the same issue few weeks ago... I just used my old case from 6200 sff and put a gtx 1050Ti (wich I got from my son, as he was having it laying around), and use rise cable for pcie x 16 for 5€ and thing works very well! Power OK so far.

please let me know how it worked out and if you have any info on P2 connector pin layout on the power supply... Just wanna put ordinary ATX PS on it via adapter  cable, but the P2 (white one) connector is wrong...

best regards,

I.

Both the r5 340x and the 1050 ti have a recommended power supply of 250 watts according to tech power up.

Your  240 watt system is borderline.  If it has been working with the r5 then probably is ok with the the 1050 ti.

I assume you have the i3-2100 CPU (65 watts).  If you upgrade to i7-2600 (90 watts) you may run into power supply problems.  Using an SDD instead of an HDD might save you 15 watts.  Make sure your 1050ti has a name brand like evga, asus, msi, etc.  I bought a fake 1050ti on ebay a few years ago  and was lucky to be able to return it.

My curent specs are : i5 2320 (95w tdp)

the gpu that has 75w use

2 sticks of 4 gb ram (thinking of upgrading to 4 x4 sticks of ram (3 watt per 8 gigs i think)

2 hdd's (9-15w)

and i did some simple math and i have left 34 watts of power left, i think it is like under the line for the 1050 ti.

I seen that you aleardy have a convertor for the motherboard power connectors, you need to place the black 6pin into the white plug on the motherboard not black, i think the black one is for using hdds and other stuff like those type of connectors that give power to sata.  here is an example of what i have seen. also my gpu that i have dosen't require any external power so i don't have the connector to know myself. and one note on that white connector the one in this video are like in the middle and your's have like from the left and 2 spaces at the right

Thanks for answer.

On my original power supply is the white power connector P2 pinned on 1,2,3,4 pin, 5 and 6 are free.

on my adapter cable there is 1 and 2 free and 3-6 occupied. but I domt know the pin layout to reconect those properly... any idea?

I think the P2 connector has only something to do with power supply fan, but I dont wanna ruin my MB by just trial and error...

thank you.
