Microsoft Windows 11

When I attempted to install (2) M.2 drives, the inboard m.2 socket was so high I could no longer install the disk caddy.  Also questioning if using both drives at the same time if there are enough PCIe lanes to support the 3400MB/s I was getting with my Samsung 970 Evo Plus drives.

@2Old2Tired,

Welcome to our HP User Forum!

Yes, I encountered the same issue with my HP EliteDesk 800 G4 DM upgrade project.

However, I can confirm that there are sufficient PCIe data lanes available to support dual high speed M.2 NVMe SSD performance, as seen, for example, in this HP ProDesk 600 G4 DM: https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/47411696, even with an additional HDD:

Thanks NonSequitur.  I used a 500GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus M.2 NVMe for the OS and I guess I'll just pull the caddy and run a 2TB M.2 NVMe for data.  It is after all, a "mini".   But I love the little thing just the same.

@2Old2Tired,

You are welcome!

I agree: a Mini is cool!
