Recently received the 230 Wireless mouse and keyboard combo. I popped the batteries in and plugged the USB into my laptop. The mouse worked but the keyboard is doing nothing! I've tried unplugging it, trying a different computer, putting different batteries in it. Nothing seems to be working. No error message comes up on my computer either. It just simply does not type anything when I try.

I've tried to get in contact VIA the HP virtual assistant and it says the serial number I give them in invalid!

Please help! I was looking forward to using it!

Make sure the 3 battery are correctly in place.

How do I connect my HP 230 keyboard?

HP 230 Wireless Keyboard
  1. Back of product.
  2. Under the battery.
  3. For laptops, press Fn + Esc.
  4. For desktops, press Ctrl + Alt + s.
  5. For Chromebooks, on the sign in screen, press Alt + v.
  6. On the barcode

The batteries are in correctly and I have tripled checked this and it is still not working.

I took the serial number from both the back of the product and the barcode and it still tells me it is invalid.

The 230 is a wifi 2.4ghz keyboard.  It is not bluetooth and it uses a receiver (dongle)

Remove the dongle and try another PC or laptop.  if it still fails then return it.   You might consider upgrading to a Bluetooth combo.  They cost more but you do not need a dongle and  the keyboard or mouse can easily be replaced if they wear out.  Many of the Bluetooth mice can be used on any surface even glass.

I have already tried to remove the USB dongle and tried in other computers.

Return it for refund or exchange.

If a problem then create a really bad review.
